Since we have lots of new followers I think it’s a good idea to tell you more about us. My name is Rocio I’m ELAL’s founder and I created this company because I hate tours and i wanted to have an experience that shows you the real Mexico using food as an excuse for connection and understanding. This is a women only company that promotes fair business practices. From paying the best wages to the team, to empowering market vendors by paying them way more than what their products actual worth because they are also providing a service and they should be compensated for that as well. We believe that tourism is an important tool to promote economic growth and positive changes in the community, but tourism money almost never gets to the people who really needs it and it usually stays in hotels, restaurants and Airbnb’s. We create programs and tools to take the money to the markets, the streets and the women of the city. I truly believe that we can create the world we want to live in. That as a women in a powerful position it’s my duty to create safe spaces for other women to grow and glow, and that the world can change if we stop giving our money to assholes, bad business would eventually stop existing if they don’t get funding. We are powerful, every penny is important, we should support nice business so nice people can thrive.
