Travel

Going on a vacation to another country would be a dream for me.  I have so many friends in other countries and would love to meet them in person.  The first place I would want to go would be England.  My best friend lives there along with a YouTube family called the Dytonbrothers.  I have been friends with them for over a year now and through them met several others via Facebook.  We talk quite a bit on Facebook, but it sure would be great to see them in person.

In choosing my destinations to tour I didn’t figure that the Dytonbrothers house would be accepted, so I have to go with the next best thing.  The next best thing would be Thorpe Park in Surrey.  This stop wouldn’t be for historical value as much as for social value.  This is said to be the place where most of my friends go just to hang out and have fun.  One thing I would be interested in seeing is the world record making roller coaster, “Colossus”.  This would be about the only historical aspect of the stop.  My second stop would be more historical.  The second stop would have to be the Charles Dickens Museum in London.  Charles Dickens is one of my favorite authors and it has been a dream of mine for years to explore this museum.  I wouldn’t be able to go right now because the museum is closed for refurbishment but I don’t see myself going any time soon anyway.  I watched a movie a few years ago in which one of the characters went through this museum and I immediately knew that if I ever do get to travel this is one of the places I’d love to go.

My second trip would be to Australia.  First I’d stop in Mudgee to see my friends I’ve met online and then I would head to Perth for some attractions.  I have only a couple of friends in Perth but from what I have heard and seen everyone there seems to be always in the mood for a good time.  I would first want to see King Park, mainly focusing on the war monument.  I have seen it in pictures and have been told it is about the most beautiful site Perth has to offer.  I see mystical names of the objects around such as flame of remembrance and pool of reflection and it makes me want to view it in person even more.  I’d have to have a tour guide or one of my friends to explain to me what everything symbolized, but that wouldn’t take away from it being a great site to see.

My second stop in Perth is something I just learned about last year.  It is called Wai-con.  It’s a little like our Comic-con, except people go as anime characters like the ones in video games.  I am a huge fan of anime (not pornographic, more like in video games).  It amazes me that people can be drawn so well using that style.  One of my friends showed me some of the souvenirs he came home with from there and that made it look even better.  One was this cane that had a skull with red light-up eyes as the handle.  That is the kind of stuff I’m interested in so to see that made me want to go even more.

My final trip would be to Canada.  Most likely to Quebec first, but I’d really like to explore the entire country.  I have been obsessed with Canada since I was a young child and if you ever hear me speak you will notice I even speak a bit like they do.  I could name all the provinces in Canada by time I was 8, but I still couldn’t tell you where my home state of Mississippi was on a map.  In ninth grade I had a pen pal from Alberta and we stayed pen pals until two years later when she moved.  My first stop would have to be Dufferin Terrace in Quebec City.  I have only seen this in pictures, but it honestly looks beautiful.  I’d love to learn of any history it has or if it is just considered a tour site because of its beauty.  It is said to have the best sites in all of Quebec City and from the pictures I’ve seen I wouldn’t argue.

The second place would be the Quebec Seminary.  The main reason would be to learn the history in person while seeing it.  Quebec is a place I have been obsessed with, but never have really learned the history of.  I think that seeing it for myself and learning about the history would be a great experience.

There are so many places in Canada I’d like to visit, but those would be the most educational.  If I ever do get rich and am able to travel the world I know I wouldn’t pass up the chance to at least explore these places.
