Physical Exercise in a Group is More Fun

Doing your physical work out on your own can be very boring. If we do it together with your friends, this will be a lot of fun being together and create a happy social gathering. Joining fitness centers or jogging in a group of 3 or more friends in the morning will be more entertaining.

Exercising in a group will make you more motivated to stay consistent with your training program. You will also be indirectly monitored by you training friends, thus make you more diligent to keep up your performance. You will feel embarrassed when you make no progress at all.

Several benefits you can derive from exercising in a group of friends may include:

·         Mutual support

As mentioned above your friends indirectly watch your step and your achievement. They know when you slow down a bit. If you don’t show up, they will ring you up to ask you what has happened and many more questions related to your group exercise. In addition, group physical exercise routine will create better friendships as you all have a lot in common.

·         Exercising more routinely

Research published in 2005 in Journal of American Academy of Physician Assistants recommended that we should exercise in a group or with your partner as this will ensure more routine physical exercise training. Exercising with your pets or a family was also recommended.

·        More entertaining and fun

Working out in a group can be very entertaining and fun. Children make use of group exercises as their daily activities with the other kids. Physical exercises do not merely mean jogging, walking, biking or swimming, you can also play football, or badminton. Any sports game will do here.

If you join a big group like a class of aerobics or a biking group of more than 20 people, the fun will be not as much as a small group of 3 or 4 people. Joining the big group can be very frustrating and discouraging too. You will probably not be noticed unless you outwit the other members.  Keep your group to 3 or 4 people as a small group like this will keep communications among you well maintained. Friendship can also continue outside your physical exercise routine. You can arrange a get together else where or pay each other a visit. An outing at a weekend can be arranged once or twice a month.
