#ArchitectureNow Magic Streets✨🧚 #CallesMágicas is an initiative by the Laboratorio de Espacio Público en México (@_lepmx) to broaden the impact and awareness of tactical urbanism interventions, which seek to improve the livability of our cities. 🌃🤸♀️ This is in line with the Road Safety Action Plan 2021 – 2030, published by the United Nations, with the ambitious target of preventing at least 50% of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030. By providing support to local governments, priority is given to the safety of the most vulnerable users in order to combat this major public health problem.🚴⛹🏾♀️ #Chignahuapan was the first city selected out of 20 more to be intervened in 2021 and 2022. 🔮🌟 From the geometric redesign of streets and intersections, temporary interventions are promoted to reduce vehicular speeds, recover public space and expand pedestrian infrastructure. 👣 This first intersection gained 830.4 square meters including sidewalk extensions and crosswalk markings.
