#ArchitectureNow OMA’s serpentine glass walkway excavating in and around of Galeria department Store’s pixelated façade in Southern city of South Korea, Gwanggyo. As the architects have described, the city was lacking a sense of affinity. Colors of brown, beige and earthy tones combined with triangular mosaic claddings to distinguishes the angular building as a piece of rock or a random sampling of earth. The glass pathway forms the steel structure when eating its’ way out of the cubic building. The hallway begins from ground floor all the way to the 10th story, while projecting outside of the building twice; forming the way to the roof garden. Architecture firm OMA sought to attract people to the sixth department store with the long-routed loop by experimenting the boundaries of retail and culture centres.
