Willy was a happy soul, always giving away mezcal and trying to get you to drink more. Mezcal was for him the universal cure. For a cold, for allergies, for headaches, for an upset stomach and of course for a broken heart. He was always happy to see our tours and approached the table to chitchat. His greatest pleasure was to make people drunk pouring glass after glass and smiling when our guests blushed “ya están todos rojos” he used to say while laughing. He always gave us mezcal bottles as gift, this was my 2019 birthday (the last one I celebrated at his place) I loved to take my friends there and eat his fantastic mole Sadly Willy passed away today. Another COVID victim. We will always remember your happy soul, your perfect mole and your mezcal enthusiasm. Rest In Peace Willy we will drink mezcal in your honor.
