1 de julio aniversario del Obelisco by @roairegui El monumento del Obelisco es conocido nacionalmente como el Ombligo de Colombia debido a que su ubicación coincide con el centro geográfico del territorio continental del país, específicamente en el Alto de Menegüa en el municipio de Puerto López donde se yergue la obra escultural en forma de Obelisco realizada por el artista colombiano Miguel Roa Iregui, cuya estructura refleja cuatro caras trapezoidales iguales, ligeramente convergentes, culminando en una pequeña pirámide. Las cuatro caras de nuestro Obelisco simbolizan la cultura, la economía, la historia, la ubicación Geográfica, la flora y la fauna, y en general la toda idiosincrasia de la Región Llanera, que junto a la riqueza paisajística hacen del Alto de Menegüa el corazon de la patria. Celebramos el aniversario del Obelisco apoyando la propuesta promovida por el abogado Portolopense Pedro Velandia Bejarano para que el Centro Geográfico de Colombia sea declarado como patrimonio cultural de la Nación, iniciativa apoyada por el Senador Jonatan Tamayo mediante proyecto de Ley que ya fue aprobado en primer debate.
