Newberry Volcano is one of the largest volcanoes in the U.S., and one of the most recent. This volcano last erupted 1,300 years ago and consists of over 400 "holes" exhaust forming a structure known as a "shield volcano". New geothermal reservoir to be created in an area with high temerpaturi in the north-west of the volcano.

Newberry EGS project is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy under a program to develop geothermal technologies. The project received a grant of 20 million dollars from the U.S. government, an amount equal to the taxpayer AltaRock Energy and Davenport Newberry companies.

The project aims to produce electricity by extracting heat energy from the earth. To achieve this, project members will produce a series of fractures in impermeable rock and will pump water into the fractures. Water returns to the surface, to be the power source for geothermal power plant.

Experts say that EGS technology is the future of geothermal energy, the power source is renewable and "friendly" with nature.

Here's how the project will take place "Newberry EGS"
