This month’s activity was focused in awakening the girls entrepreneurial spirit. We visited @alealegamez from @mitucalzado an amazing Mexican shoes brand that because very successful because of their unique designs and great customer service. Ale started the brand with her best friend and they used to make the shoes by hand, the business started on Facebook selling over DM! Now they have an amazing shop and they are planning to expand and keep creating awesome shoes. After everything we learned from Ale the girls will now have to develop a new product for their market stall, considering their target, the customer service and all the costs. This month during their financial class, they learn that there are many hidden costs that need to be considered when setting a product’s price. We also had our gastronomic outing that day! The gues was Morocco. Each girl researched different subjects: religion, currency, government, the Berber situation, a famous actor or actress and they needed to find a Moroccan song they like. After they told us everything they learned, Hussein the restaurant’s owner explained the dishes we were about to try. Mint tea, cous cous, chicken with plumps and apricots, and tajine. We finished with sweets and coffee. This was a great day, the girls are now learning lots of useful stuff like creating a product and they will even have to launch it and Ale will go and judge the final result. We are so proud and happy to see how they are growing and becoming amazing women.
