This can apply to many things and in the case of training, it can apply to your mobility! While lifting may place a short term damper on your flexibility (due to DOMS and other potential protective hands at play), if you return to lifting through that motion after a few days of recovery and within that full ROM, you will keep and potentially improve your mobility (provided you continue to progress the range and load that you work through). This could give an added benefit that stretching DOES ❌NOT in that you can improve mobility AND your ability to tolerate load and produce force through that new range!
