Articles and Blogs Versus Pictures - A Twitter Promotion Experiment

I recently did an experiment with Twitter promotion of my pictures on RedGage vs my Articles on Triond, and found the following results:

Day 1

I posted 68 Redgage Photo links to one of my largest twitter accounts over a 48 hour period and received 1048 clicks.

Day 2

I posted 100 Triond Article links on the same twitter account over a 24 hour period and received just 40 clicks.

Day 3

I posted another 68 RedGage photo links and 100 Triond article links together over a 24 hour period and received 955 redgage clicks and just 21 Triond clicks.

Conclusions:

So obviously Pictures are getting a lot more attention that articles or blog posts. Could it be that people find it easier to look at pictures rather than read articles?

I then thought it might be that RedGage in general does better than Triond, but after analysing my Triond clicks a bit closer, I noticed that over 50% of those clicks were to some pictures I had posted at Triond before joining RedGage.

So my conclusion is that pictures do attract far more attention than articles or blogs, well at least in my case that is... maybe you know differently?
