A NOTE ON USING PUBLIC DOMAIN ARTICLES
Once an article or piece of content goes into the public domain, it stays there forever.  It is free for anyone to reuse as they see fit.  You can even post the content and earn money from it.
But to make a public domain article YOUR ARTICLE, and place your name on it and own the rights to it, you will have to first rewrite the article, poem, or whatever it is you want to claim.  This involves more than simply changing a few words, or even a few sentences.  In order for you to claim the reworked article, it must be a substantial rewrite of the work in question.
