Characteristics of a graphics tablet
A graphics tablet is an input device for computers, it is connected to the computer via a USB or a wireless connection like Bluetooth. Depending on the brand, it may also require a power supply.
A graphics tablet combines active surface and a thin tool for the user's hand. The surface which is commonly called shelf is corresponds standard paper sizes: A6, A5, A4, A3. The object has also more or less wide edges for ergonomic needs (possibility of holding the tablet without touching the active storage location) and a functional need (programmable keys on the keyboard corresponding to those of a computer).
The tool is generally associated with a stylus. Other tools can sometimes be added as other specific pens, airbrush or a mouse. This pen looks like a pen or a pencil, and is often equipped with programmable buttons.
Traditional tablet
The traditional tablet is the oldest and has an active opaque surface. On this surface, the stylus handles the pressure and movement. But this display is rendered only on the screen. So the cursor that displays the location where the stylus is in contact with the tablet.
Another feature of this tablet is the recognition of the gesture of the stylus which differs from the mouse. The latter provides a relative movement of the cursor on the monitor.
The choice of the size of a tablet imposes a match with that of the monitor. The choice of the size of the active surface also depends on the actions of the user. A dash pen is made through the movement of the wrist or forearm.
The second type of tablet which is latest and currently less popular because of its price, is the LCD tablet. The screen itself is an active surface, which allows you to find the natural coordination of gaze, hand and support.
The sizes of LCD formats offer high for ease of use, plus the opportunity to work by placing the tablet vertically or horizontally as desired. The only concern of this style of tablet is the question about the longevity of the active surface since it must be under pressure of the pen but also the weight of the user's arm when working horizontally.

It is an active area since only the stylus or other tools using the same radio frequency are detected, not external pressure like that of a finger.
