Just like a dream! #Repost @sugoiijapan (@get_repost) ・・・ Follow @japanawaits The Himeji Fantasy Illumination was beautiful this year! 😍 Himeji Castle (姫路城, Himejijō), located in Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture, held its illumination until the end of November this year. Also know as the "White Heron Castle" (Shirasagi-jo) for its elegant white appearance, the castle is over 400 years old and is widely considered Japan's most spectacular castle for its imposing size, beauty and well-preserved, complex castle grounds. The castle is both a national treasure and a world heritage site. 🏯 Unlike many other Japanese castles, it was never destroyed by war, earthquake or fire and survives to this day as one of the country's twelve original castles.
