Elucidate On The Prophesying Powers Of The Pastor TB Joshua.
The commonly and secular held beliefs about prophets is that they are people who are able to ‘perceive’ the future and make it known to somebody, thus they are sometimes stated to as ‘seers’. This notion may be somewhat true, what this definition lacks can be the matter you do not know or that can offend you. Generally, a prophet is one who ‘tells forth the will and counsel of God’.
This would include things present, pastand future. The Bible widens the definition of the prophet in two distinct ways giving credibility to this definition.
The first kind of prophecy is something that comes into view by the move of God's Divine Spirit in the church. It can come to practically anyone in the church but it is always administered and decided upon by the Holy Spirit alone. But the demonstration of the Spirit is given to every individual to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of knowledge, to another by the word of wisdom by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another the gifts of soothing by the same Spirit, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another the interpretation of tongues, to another divers kinds of languages.
These types of prophecies seem only to be practiced in the Pentecostal and charismatic churches of today. But using the comprehensive definition any preacher who is communicating under the power of the Divine Spirit could be said to be prophesying.
A second kind of prophecy is that which comes from someone who has been chosen not just to prophecy but has been precisely given the ‘office of the prophet’. And he gave some, prophets; and some disciples; and some, evangelists; and some, teachers and pastors; for the work of the ministry, for the perfecting of the saints, for the enlightening of the body of Christ. How these ‘prophets’ are chosen is a significant matter yet it is often misunderstood.

In the Holy Bible some prophets saw a dream, others heard God's voice and still others saw a fiery bush or some other great omen which got their attention and then God communicated to them. In modern times, do people see visions anymore? Yes, they do and they will with accumulative frequency.
It is promised in the Bible that as human beings approach the second coming of Christ that women and men alike will begin to hear and see from God in a rehabilitated fashion. There will be more visions and dreams than in any other generation in history.
