Facebook is to charge Users
I logged onto Facebook this morning to find a post from a friend of mine claiming that Facebook will start charging users due to the recent updates. According to the post, users who do post the info to their wall will have their accounts deleted.
The reason why this hoax campaign has become too successful and so widespread is because many people rely on Facebook.
It’s like saying to a drug addict that Heroin no longer exists. There will be an outcry, and the message will spread like wildfire within the drug using community. How many of us depend upon Facebook on a daily basis for social updates, planning events, games and general chit chat? How many of us would be lost without it and in times of economic decline could not afford it if they made us pay?!
Panic!!
It may seem like breach of contract for the Facebook team to turn around and start charging users when the slogan you see on the sign up page is ‘it’s free and always will be’. However, companies can be ruthless and just imagine the Facebook monopoly from starting to charge us.
‘You would never catch me paying for Facebook!’ I hear you cry, but what about missing out on Mafia wars, not being able to IM that cousin in Australia and organize parties? Not to mention the social exclusion from not being able to check up on what your mates are posting and generally nose into other people’s business.
Facebook tariffs are only a hoax… this time!!
