Dead Space is a 2008 science fiction survival horror video game created by EA Redwood Shores for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game which was released on all platforms through October 2008 puts the player in control of an engineer named Isaac Clarke, who battles the Necromorphs; monstrous resuscitated as human corpses, aboard an interstellar mining ship, the USG Ishimura.
Dead Space does not use a conventional heads-up exhibit. All the information is showcased to the player via holographic juts from Isaac's Resource Integration Gear (RIG) spacesuit and the weapons themselves.
Dead Space (2008) Combat is carried out by an innovative mechanism called "strategic dismemberment", in which Isaac must raze off limbs or sections of the Necromorphs to defeat them.
