Datsun Go vs. Eon Sportz

There have been plenty of new automobiles launched in the Indian market in the recent years, but few of them have swept the buyers off their feet. Datsun Go is one of the launches with most sophisticated design and highly modern characteristics with its classic convenience to drive. Within a short while, it has successfully gained an edge over its competitors. Another great thing, sales wise, has been the most economic price of the Datsun Go which is much lesser than its counterparts such as Hyundai Eon Sportz. Whereas Hyundai Eon is priced at around INR 4 lacs, GO is priced at INR 3.8 lacs.

Hyundai Eon Sportz is not far behind thanks to its elegant and far more sophisticated looks in the given price which is a steal deal. So, what is the more economically viable option in the light of features? Which one has the faster engine? Which one of both has more headroom and leg space? Read out the following study which compares both of the cars on the basis of their character traits, performance, comfortable level of driving and functionality of the interiors and design.

Design and appearance

Datsun Go is one of the much anticipated hatchbacks in really affordable prices. Much of its popularity can be credited to its classic looks and functional design. It has a solid and sturdy look but some buyers may find the sticking out fuel filler pipe a bit unattractive. Likewise, the torsion beam rear axle too is attached outside and remains on display. Apart from that, the look is fine and has attracted many though some think there is room for larger wheels and protective shelling on the wheel arches.

Now, talking about the Hyundai Eon Sportz, it is a strikingly gorgeous car with refined look. It has curving character outline and weighs around 772 kgs while Datsun Go weighs around 788 kgs. It must be noted that both of these cars are not implanted with a wiper at the rear which is a necessary feature for security in the rains. So, as you see, Go is comparatively lighter than the Eon Sportz in spite of its heavy looking appearance.

Interior and other attributes

The interior of a car is one of the most important deciding factors when it comes to buying car. The interiors of Hyundai Eon Sportz have been reviewed as one of the most chic interior with its urbane setting. The silver highlights go well with the V-shaped console at the center. Another top notch attributes are the automatic controllers for the headlights and the wiper, and big control panels for the air conditioning vents. There are a lot of door pockets as well as spaces on dashboard which have been thoughtfully designed to hold the objects like a handy cubbyhole.

Datsun Go also is designed with practicality and the designers have kept in mind the convenience for drivers as there is a lot of storage space. The interior is unique, but there is no glove box in the dashboard. Though, the seats are a lot comfortable with a roomy feeling and there is more than enough room for knees and head with extra thigh support. Compared to the Eon, GO has far more comfortable seating position; the boot space in the Eon is 215 litres while 265 litres in the GO. So, while Eon Sportz scores well in the looks department, Datsun is definitely more ahead in the seating design.

Engine and performance

No surprise why the Datsun Go has acquired such a wide fan base. With its engine motors comprising 3 cylinders and different 5 speed manual transmission system, GO is one of the fastest automobile in its space with a quick to respond motor and heaps of displacement. The most amazing factor is indeed the speed which only in mere 14.5 seconds, accelerates to 100 km/h at 67BHP. However, on the flip side, the engine of the car constantly needs to be pressed about and is also relatively noisy. On the other hand, the engine of Eon has not received such rave reviews because of its low quality engine producing high vibrations. The driving can be a little rough due to its power of 55BHP which produces lots of noise, vibration and harshness. Therefore, in the engine quality scoreboard, Datsun Go definitely scores higher than the Eon Sportz.

Mileage and fuel efficiency

Various automobiles have tried to enhance the efficiency of fuel for better mileage and the given rise in fuel prices. In these terms, Hyundai Eon Sportz gives a mileage of 13.7kpl in the cities and around 18kpl on the highways which is higher than what the GO offers; 12.8kpl in the cities and something like 17.9kpl over the highways. Now, while comparing both of them can show you that the Go is better in terms of fuel efficiency as compared to its counterparts and other automobiles in the given price range.

Riding experience

With the above study made on the riding comfort ability and comparison among the attributes, one can easily say that Eon Sportz offers a highly roomy interior with lots of space and plentiful comfort while driving. But, the quality of driving such as the NVH factor really makes it a bit less favorite than the GO which offers a very fine driving experience. Be it NVH, handling or seating comfort, GO is a highly recommendable car. Especially the price range it comes in, it is considered a big shot because a lot of cars offering that kind of quality experience are a lot more expensive.

The capability of driving on the rough surfaces and uneven roads with effortlessness makes the Datsun Go a prime choice for those who have to drive through the uneven terrains regularly. So, it is safe to say that though the buyers can consider any of the both segments, but Datsun Go comes around as the first past the post due to the high points in engine efficiency, seating, interior and the overall attributes alongside its price which is pleasantly lower than the Hyundai Eon Sportz.
