Baked Apples

A delicious dessert that kids will enjoy. A heathful snack because apples contain a lot of vitamin C.

These make a great dessert for serving at lunch or dinner. They make a great addition to a party table.

The best thing about these baked apples is that they may also be prepared using the microwave with takes less time in the kitchen.

They are a very delicious and tasty treat that most anyone will enjoy! These are very delicious served with vanilla ice cream.

These apples are best served warm or hot.

They will store easy in the fridge and may be easily reheated in the microwave.

 I hope that you enjoy preparing these wonderful little desserts as much as I do. They are really simple and easy to make. They are very decorative for any table. Guests will just love them.

How to Microwave Baked Apples

4 large baking apples

Water and lemon juice

Filling:

3 tablespoons of real butter

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of flour, all-purpose

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

3 tablespoons of walnuts, chopped

3 tablespoons of grated coconut

Directions:

1. Rinse, cut in half and remove the core from the apples. Do not peel the apples. Place in a bowl with water and lemon juice. Remove apples and dry before cooking.

2. To prepare the filling, combine brown sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon in a  microwave safe bowl.

3. Microwave on high until the butter is soft and blend well.

4. Add chopped nuts and coconut and mix well.

5. Place apples on a microwave safe baking dish. Spoon the filling over the apples and cover with wax paper.

7. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Serve apples hot or warm.

The ingredients are the same for preparing in an conventional oven.

Directions:

1. Rinse the apples and cut them in half, do not peel. Core the apples and place them in cold water with lemon juice. This will keep the apples from turning brown while you are preparing the filling.

2. To prepare the filling, melt the butter in a saucepan, add sugar, flour, and cinnamon and heat. Mix well.

3. Add nuts and coconut and mix well.

4. Remove the apples and dry them.

5. Place apples on a baking sheet.

6. Top each apple with the filling.

7. Bake the apples at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. Serve the apples hot or warm. Enjoy!
