Another RedGage Lesson!
Well, here I am again posting (blogging) about the lessons that I am learning about Redgage! Today's lesson is kind of based on the saying, "Build it and they will come!".
So you are probably wondering, (putting on my mind reader hat).. What is he talking about? What does he want to build? Who are they? and most likely, What the heck is he getting at!
(Took off my mind reader hat). Okay, all great and valid thoughts! Let me try to answer them, What is he talking about? I am talking about making some extra money from Redgage.
What does he want to build? Well, honestly, I want to build up the money that I am earning from this site!
Who are they? Now that is the million dollar question. "They" and to keep it simple, are visitors to my content (photos, links, blogs).
What the heck is he getting at! Now that is the billion dollar question! I am getting at , is that in order for me to make more extra money from Redgage, I have to do more than just post my stuff here and hope that people on Redgage will visit it! I have to introduce my content to the rest of the world! Okay, not the whole world just a small part of it!
So, in order to get more outside visitors to my content, I have been using (stating the obvious but it a lesson that I learning) two different methods to get traffic to my content.
(1) Instant traffic like from Twitter and my Facebook account and pages. The pros are if I can catch their attention, I can get instant traffic. The cons are (b)"short life span". My links are only seen till the next update on the viewers page!
(2) Long term traffic like posting my content on my blogs and websites and adding my content to my directory (shameless plug, 6-b.net ) . The pros to this method "long life span"is that if done right, I can get visitors, hours, days, weeks and even years after the posting. Also a "backlink" (link from one site to another) for my content that I can control. The con to this method is that I have to depend on the search engines to index my posting and hopefully make page one for my posting keywords!
So hopefully I have explained why I have to promote my content outside of Redgage to make extra money!
