Lesson Learned The Hard Way

First off, let me share a little about myself ( other than what I posted in my first blog posting ). I spend a lot of my day online, working on my websites doing such things as adding content and images to theme and getting traffic for other people websites (just another thing that I do to earn money).

Anyway, lately (okay last 3 years or so), I been going through a "famous person quote" phase or a favorite quote from a song like "Always On My Mind - Elvis" !  Now what I usually do, is find a favorite quote (it can be a inspirational quotes, a song quote or just something that I made up) and if there is a person attached to the quote (okay my wordy way of saying.. "quoted by so and so"), I go to a public domain place for images (like http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/ ) where you can find image that are free to use and no copyrights to them (for example, you might see this "As a work of the U.S. federal government, the image is in the public domain." )

I find a image that I like, download it to my computer, go to one of my "image editors" even Microsoft Paint, (that I believe is available on every PC) and spend some time working on it. Once I am happy with how it looks, I will add the quote to the image.  To make a long story short (blog posting short) I then (majority of time) upload that image to my FlickR account (free one) and then, add it to my blog (I have more than one lol) or my websites even Pinterest!  Okay, now I getting to the part (the title) , where I "Lesson Learned The Hard Way"!

I lesson that I learned is just because I know the image is free and public domain, doesn't mean everyone else does! So in order to "keep things above board", next time I use a free "image", I will credit the source! In case, you are wondering, "Why in the heck would he do that?"... Well, since I been online from my very first website (anyone remember GeoCities?), I been trying to maintain a honest and trustworthy reputation online by leaving a Have to leave a "paper trail:!  Kinda of "branding" myself!   Thanks for reading my latest rant! lol Take care and like Porky Pig says  "Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-... That's all, folks.
