Black people think that they have arrived

It is interesting that some Blacks like to talk about how other Blacks have arrived because they will not take advantage of the institutions that they used to get where they're at.  Well how do you know that the individual wants to go where you have been?  How do you presuppose, that because the individual is not where you're at, that they even want to take the same journey you have, that they want what you have, or that they want anything out of life at all.  Are all Blacks trying to arrive at the same destination, or are there varying opinions about where Blacks should be.

Every time that we say that Blacks think that they have arrived, we need to point the other four fingers back at us and be honest with ourselves that the real issue is that we feel that we have not arrived.  Other Blacks seem to be comfortable with where they are at, and do not feel the need to go anywhere, or may feel that they have already arrived at their destinations.  Others still were not trying to go anywhere anyway, so there was no journey to take.

During the Civil Rights struggle, Blacks died, in part, so that they would be able to go where the White man goes.  Now some Blacks do not want other Blacks to go where the White man goes; he wants Blacks to go where they feel that Blacks should go.  They want Blacks to support Black businesses, go to Black schools, listen to Black music, patronize the Black arts .

There is nothing wrong with Black people supporting what other African-Americans do.  But there is something wrong with reverse racism , which is what occurs when Black people refuse to acknowledge the contributions that anyone else has made to society.  You may not like the way that White people dress, might not like their television programs, may not like "White" cinema, might not like their music, may not care for anything that they do.  Yet that is their culture, and there are African-Americans who enjoy that culture; do they think that they are White, well some do, but not everyone.

Stop telling Black people that they think that they have arrived, because they want to patronage White culture, and stop pulling Blacks that are comfortable with where they are at in life where you want them to go.  Some like the streets, some like the ivory tower, but we have to make up our minds; is it that some Blacks are "too Black " for us, and other Blacks are not "Black enough"?  What is the message that we are attempting to convey to Blacks that we have philosophical differences with?
