Watercolour: Not As Scary As You'd Think

Watercolour or Watercolor is a water soluble sort of paint, that I was afraid to use.
Acrylic you can paint over, it was all I had used. The thought of messing up any sort of underpainting with paint and water on top freaked me out quite a bit. But, I sucked it up.

First thing I learned was that even though paper says it's for watercolor, that doesn't mean it can't warp when it's wet. It can, a lot. Especially if you douse your paper. Once I figured that out, life got a lot easier.
Then, I had to be more patient, or grab a blowdryer or space heater. It was having my colours mix alot. Sure, it can look cool, but not when you're going for a cleaner, less "oops" sort of look. So, I started drying sections of the paint, which helped me clean up my act.
And today, during painting number two, I learned you can not only paint over stuff, but you can do it with white paint. It all amounts to how much water joins the paint on the brush. I was able to create designs with a damp paint brush and white paint. it worked with all the colours. As long as I didn't add to much water, my colours didn't bleed at all.

Moral of the Story: Just try them! Nothing Ventured, nothing Gained.
