So this is the kind of summer it has been.
I live on Grand Manan Island and we have had a great summer. The weather has been warmer and sunnier than usual. Very few rainy days. It has not been overly dry as it tends to rain over night and early mornings.
I am not sure if they have set a record, but we have had a large number of tourists, and we have noticed this past week or so especially. I guess everyone wants to get their vacation in on this last stretch of summer. It is nice here on the island that we have a great fall,and so people can plan to visit the island in September and October as well.
This summer I have spent a lot of my time biking. I have tried to go 2-3 days a week if not more. Check out some of my posts about biking on my blog http://wffdays.blogspot.com
I also have spent a fair amount of time working in my flower gardens and that has given me a great deal of satisfaction.
I have spent a lot of time on line as I try to do various websites and programs to earn extra cash, I like using Facebook and Twitter to keep in touch with friends.
A couple of goals I had for the summer that I didn't get to realize are walking or just relaxing all the beaches , camping - we have yet to get in a camping trip, and my quilting projects. I have a quilt on my frame , which I really hoped to complete this summer. It ended up that is was just too warm to be inside quilting. So I am okay with that. I have done some sewing in my sewing room, made a baby quilt, worked on some blocks for a wedding quilt and just today I sewed a couple of table runners. I read part of every day but actually I haven't finished all that many books. Too many other things on the go I guess.
The next couple of weeks will be busy. This week the 18-21 we will be at our conventions gathering . http://www.baptist-atlantic.ca/oasis.
Then the last week of August we will be traveling to Quebec. We plan to visit some family and attend a friends wedding. My daughter from Saskatchewan is part of the wedding party and we will look forward to spending time with her.
Sadly we lost one of our dogs this summer, we sure do miss him and the laughter than he added to our days.
