Easy Microwave Fudge Recipe
INTRODUCTION
Over the years this has become one of my favorite quick and easy fudge recipes . It takes very few ingredients, and a few minutes in the microwave oven and your pretty much done. And the best part is kids to adults love the texture and taste of this recipe . Unlike my other fudge recipe, which has a some what sweeter taste, this fudge recipe has a more dark chocolate flavor to it. It is also a much more firmer fudge, more like what you find in the stores, but with a nice home made flavor.
As an added bonus, this recipe is also kid friendly.
THINGS YOU WILL NEED
3 cups chocolate chips
1 14oz can condensed milk
2 teaspoons vinalla extract
1/4 to 1/2 cup walnut pieces
a microwave oven
an 8 by 8 pan
a large mixing bowl
(note; the vinalla extract is optional, you can add any flavoring you want to. Sometimes I add rum flavoring or a splash of coffee brandy.)
STEP1
Take your 8 by 8 pan or any pan about that size and line it with a piece of wax paper. You don't have to do this step, but it will make removing the fudge from the pan once it has cooled down a whole lot easier.
STEP 2
Take a large glass mixing bowl , one suitable for a microwave oven, and place the chocolate chips into the bowl .
STEP 3
Now remove the lid from the condensed can of milk and add that to the bowl.
STEP 4
Now place the bowl into the microwave and heat at full power for 4 minutes.
STEP 5
Now remove the bowl from the microwave. Use great care in doing so as the mixture at this point is very hot.
STEP 6
Now take a spoon, I use a long handled one, stir the mixture until well blended, about a minute.
STEP 7
Now add walnuts and a flavoring of your choice to the mixture. Stir well.
STEP 8
Now place your mixture into the 8 by 8 pan you lined with wax paper.
STEP 9
Now that the mixture is in the pan, use your spoon to spread it out as evenly as you can. At this point you can use the bottom of the spoon to make swirl designs or other designs on top of the fudge.
STEP 10
Now place the pan of fudge in the fridge to cool. To speed up the process you can place the pan into the freezer for about an hour.
STEP 11
Once firm, remove pan from fridge and turn upside down on a cutting board, the block of fudge should come right out of the pan fairly easy.
STEP 12
Once the block of fudge is removed from the pan, peel the wax paper off the bottom of the fudge.
STEP 13
Now carefully cut the fudge up into smaller pieces.
STEP 14
Place the pieces of fudge into a bowl and store in the fridge. If you have children like I do, it won't be around long.
COOKING TIPS
line your 8 by 8 pan with a piece of wax paper, removing the fudge later will be a lot easier.
I add walnuts but you can add what ever you want to including miniature marshmallows
WARNINGS
Be very careful when handling the hot mixture and removing it from the microwave.
