Halo-Halo

Halo-halo is a summer treat so you would feel happy and forget that it is really hot this summer. If you become hotheaded because of the weather, you are in the bad mood, you want to release your anger just look for some halo-halo, they are in every street corner.

Now, halo-halo can be simple or extravagant. There is an affordable halo-halo sold in plastic cups for 10 pesos and there are more "sosyal" or the halo-halo for the rich ones you can buy at 50 or 60 pesos, I guess and you can buy it in Chowking or first class restaurants.

No matter where you buy it as long as it looks halo-halo, it will be fine. So, what is this halo-halo. Halo means mix, you need to mix the halo-halo manually or if you like you go to KFC and order Krushers and a machine already mix the halo-halo for you.

Ingredients

Halo-halo is basically like a snow cone, where you need an ice shaver. Then when you have enough ice to fill your tumbler, you will then add the sweets like bananas, tapioca pearls, unsweetened gelatin, sweet potato, corn kernel, langka, nata de coco, rice crispies, sweet kidney beans, garbanzos or chick peas, corn flakes, melon at the bottom. At the top you need to add leche flan or custard, ube yam or ice cream. It also has to have sugar and evaporated filled milk.

It does not have to be always complete, you have 5 of these and it can be a halo-halo already. Summer will not be complete without halo-halo.
