Easy-Cheesy Pull Apart Bread

   2 cups all-purpose flour
   2 tablespoons baking powder
   1/2 teaspoon salt
   1 teaspoon sugar
   1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
   1 teaspoon parsley flakes
   1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 stick butter or margarine or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup, divided
   1/2 teaspoon minced onion (opt.)
   1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese ( I like sharp better )
   1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, garlic powder, parsley flakes and I talian seasoning in a bowl.  Cut 1/2 stick butter(4 tablespoons or 1/4 cup) into pieces and cut into flour mixture to make coarse crumbs.  Add the minced onion, parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese and buttermilk.  Stir with a spoon until all ingredients are sticking together.  Turn onto a floured surface and knead several times.  Pinch off pieces of the dough and roll into balls with your hands about the size of walnuts.   Spray a bundt pan, melt the other 1/2 stick butter, and dip your dough balls into the melted butter.   Layer in the bundt pan.  If you have any melted butter left over pour it over the dough.  Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes checking for doneness.  This bread should be nice and brown and done in center.  Makes 6 to 8 servings.
